    August 06

    Warm up

It's just passed my birthday on the 3rd of Aug. So, I'm now 23 years old.

For the first time I use the new-look space, which is quite too much deceration for me. I think I can get used to it in a couple of weeks. Now I'm peparing for my oversea study I've told you before. So, I try to practice the presentation and write the essay with Mr.Brian, my very very first English teacher (This English native can speak at least 4 languages, including Latin).

Today I gave my first presentation at System training school. Mr. Brian come up with the idea that I should do it in in front the class with the audience more than 1. So, today he invite 2 foreign teachers to be my audience. (My poor victims. Ha Ha) I knew that one of them, Brad, might some background in my topic since he got Bsc. in biology, but for Brian and another nice lady, I wasn't quite sure. So, I used a very simple words and try to avoide some unnecessary technical terms. The result is good! They understood my presentation and also discussed some interesting article relate to the main topic. I'm really happy.

Oh! Today topic is the brief facts about prion, the protein particle that can infect mammal and cause the group of disease called TSEs which includes BSE (known as Mad cow disease). Unfortunately, prion cause the fetal and untreatable illness, while we have a few data about this thing. In my view, it's not only important to us in the term of new kind of pathogen, but also in the evidance for the people who learn genetics and evolution. This because right now it's widely accepted that all of organism use nucleic acid to reproduce. But in the cast of prion, it require neither DNA or RNA to reproduce itself. Interesting right?

Well, this is all for today. I have many things to have done in my list in the following week; I don't understand why I often have so many things I want to do when I have a little time.

    Take care and see you.

Still have 1 month in Thailand.

    Hello to all you guys.
It's about 3.40 am when I was typing this topic, which is after I came back from a little karaoke-dinner-party with all my lab-mates and advisor. Today we celebrated for P'Neung's birthday, welcome our new members and also congratulation for our advisor's currently accept "Accistant Profesor".

As usual, we have a meeting once in 3-4 months; actually, sometimes, more often. Disscuss about our current projects, problem during with the study and also other problems in everyday-life. So, for us our advisor play the another important role as the second dad.
This year, we have 2 new members, Joy and Best. And presently, we already have Krieng and Yoon in lab. So, it must be really enjoyable! My senior, P'Pui, didn't come today cause her feel not very well. The other two, P'Joice and P'Oak, have gone to USA for the Master degrees. I really miss them both. Then I realized that I have only 1 month in Thailand.
Now, I feel excited and looking forward to get there. In the same time I feel a bit scare if my language skills are good enough for my everyday life and my course.
I have to go now because it seems that my mom and dad have some plan for us tomorrow.
    Thanks for reading.
    see ya

    Graduation ceremony

    Hi! to all you guys.
Yesterday was my big day, The graduation ceremony. And here is some of the high-light detail.

I woke up around 5.45 am., dressed up, and went to C.U. I've just realized how many relatives I have! My cousins, aunts, uncles, grandpa, grandma, and my family went there to congratulate me. It was totally amazing. I have to thank them all, especially my younger sister who take care of everything for me. She was very busy, but didn't conplain such a thing. So, thank you very much!
The weather was great in the morning. Even if it's quite hot, but the sunlight is good for taking a picture. I tried to find my friends in the morning but it was not easy. A couple of highschool friends made me surprise. I've told them before about this event, but I didn't expect much since they have a duty on the weekday. I was so happy meeting them since we didn't see each other for 5 years! And this refreshed me all the memories in our old days in the quintet band.

Around 9 am., the bio-zoo students went in to our lecture room for the last meeting. The head of the department wished us for success in our life from now on. The seniors make a goodbye clip-video for us, which is really lovely. Traditionally, all the students in our dep. sang the cheer songs for us, before we sang for a return.
There is the tradition which still remain in some faculties including mine. The freshmen will hold their hands make a big round circle to surround the graduates, sing the songs while walk with us to the main auditorium, and wave us goodbye when we reach there. I felt very impress when they said "congratulation".

We were excited wating for the princess. She came here on 2 pm. And as I've told you, I the first one of the faculty. So, I have about half a minute to look at her! It was the longest half-a-minute in my life.
I waited for the dean to calling my name. In that moment, I remembered what the teacher said, "Looking at the princess might make you nervous, try to look at the mark on the floor, Ok?" But I didn't quite sure what make me leave that worn behind. Slowly, I looked up and saw her look back at me. I didn't know what to do. With all of the joy in my heart, I smiled. And if my eyes didn't lie to me, she smiled, warmly, back at me. It's like a dream come true. LONG LIVE THE PRINCESS.
I had a good opportunity, going on the state 2 times to recieve the diploma and the golden medal for the summa cum laude. The princess gave us a short lecture, informing us to be good, and also, in the name of the king, his majesty wish us a good life. After the ceremony, the graduates went to salute the statute of the two kings. I went back to see my dad and gave the madel to him. Why I dedicated this reward to him? Well, because he always my inspiration.

We had a nice dinner together around 6 pm. I wonder if the cameraman was fed fully since I took him along with me all day. I felt a little bit disappoint because I can't went the airport to wave goodbye to my friends, Oat and Nita. Well, I hope they will enjoy the flight and reach England smoothly.

OK guys, thanks again for the gifts, the congratulation and also who take a photo with me.

Oh! and you too. Thanks for reading my blog.
    Se ya!

    World cup make others tiny

    Hi there!
Last week I went to C.U. to participitate the practice day for the graduate student which made us feel familiar with the ceremony hall, provided us some chance to practice in some steps, and also served as the alumni's informal congratulation party. (We had some bakery and drinks!) That day- actually my idea- we visited our highschool, Satit Patumwan Demonstration School, to meet our teachers in the morning. It's really fun but after I rushed back to C.U., I felt very tired and end up had (a little) nap in the auditorium. Ha Ha
I'll tell you more about my graduation ceremony after the real day, 14 of July. I'm so exciting being the first one of the faculty (like I've told you, ~500 students) who recieve the diploma from Her Rolay Princess Sirinthorn.

Ok back to the topic. FIFA world cup.

World cup fever has spreaded all around the world. I'm not the one who interesting much in this kind of sport but can't help watching all most every match. I must give the favour to the host,German who manage this mega project smoothly both for the games and security (though, there were some huligans) But you know what? There are many interesting sport competition around the world in this time. To be more specific, there are all internation ones.
    • Wimbledon : The only one grass-cort-glandslam of tennis. Don't you know that now the game reach the semi-final. Yeh again, Rafael and Roger are still advance.

    • Tour De France : The biggest cyclic race which lack of Lance Armstrong in this time. So, it sound interesting who are gonig to claim his throne. Hello! guy, now I think they have already finished the first half.

    • Formula one US grand prix : Ha Ha for this one. The reasult is Shumy was the champion. ( My Alonso)

In my country, even we don't have our team in the competition, we have been crazy for it from the start. There are more extra programs on TV special for world cup, live program for every match and rerun in the morning. I feel fun keep up-to-date with the data. But don't you think it's too much? Sometime I think - may be I think too much- these programs is the other factor enhance the ganbling rate.

I support Spain but sadly it's time for them to go home. Now I wish Italy will be the world No.1. And I hope that you guys who support your favourite team, please please don't blame them. I believe they had done their best. I impressed with the German-fans who still cheer their heroes even they can't reach to the semi-final. (Comparing with the Brazilian who burnt the model of the players!)

    Anyway, enjoy watching.

    Hasta la vista.

When 500 graduate students take a picture together

    Hola como esta.
Quite a long gap I didn't come here to update my blog. The excuse is I have been busy preparing everything for my graduation day as well as the departure from Thailand to Scotland for my postgrad study in the same time. Not the very serious task for me, but I can make me feel dizzy. Sometimes, I don't understand my feeling why I feel so too preoccupied, irritatable and hasty. May be it's because of my original habit that I always stick to my plan and not satisfy when it went wrong. Anyway, I hope I can handle this.

Today is the day,as I mension in the title, the science students come together to take a panorama picture in fornt of "the couple of the king" statue. The weather was not very nice. I feel like the rain can droup down everytime the God want. The good new is my feeling was wrong. And my sister told me may be it because of this picture below :

Well guys, if you're Thai, you might know this believe. The lemongrass can prevent the rain!!!! Even there is not the scientific proof, this time, it was really effective.

I woke up about 5.45 a.m., had my make-up done and together with whole family, drove to the University. Most people today were science graduates, so there were yellow-stripe robes everywhere. It was really nice. My sister became the camera-man assistance, helping him to adjust my positions. I took some shots with my familys and relatives; and also, many friends. I am very happy. It was like this is my day today.

Oh, I really looking forward to the real day. It is gonna be a big day in my life. I hope I can do well.

    See you soon.

    Long Live the King

    สวัสดีค่ะ
This time I like to greet you in Thai.
I've just had a really nice holiday in these past 2-3 days. I believe that you guys have already know about the news of the 60th anniversary celebration of his majesty, Kng Bhumibol Adulayadejh, accession to the throne. So, I don't want to describe more about the events; However you can find out more on any news-channel website. Not because I'm too lazy to do it, but I can support those fact by post myown feeling and experience on the blog.

The yellow-shirt fever in Thailand has started almost the month before the big day, 9 June 2006 which it is expected by the international public's eyes via the major TV channal like CNN, CNBC and BBC. I'm the one who cannot find the yellow shirt with the celebration logo. So, that day I wore the one I already have in my collection. I woke up early (compare with other holidays)and watched the live program on TV with my whole family, wating for the most improtant in the history; also our lives.

Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej (L) along w

Finally, the moment we all waiting for has come. Our king, standing by side with the queen, smiled kindly and waved to his people after his speech. Surely I can tell, like all Thai, I almost cried when I saw the king and in side my heart, I shouted out lound "Song Phra Ja Reurn: Long Live the King" again and again.
And from that moment, I think I realized the definition of "the tear of happiness".

The day after, there are many activities set by both goverment and other organizations in order to show our royalty and cerebrated this very special and important time. There are many fireworks sent from the foreign countries. The royal barges display elegrantly in front of his majesty and all the guests. The grand palace was waken to life when our king's guests were invited there to join the royal dinner. To me, it like the fairy tale come true. I hope that every individual of them will impress with our warm welcome, beautiful culture, and also our beloved royal famiy.

Many parts of his majesty's speech are meaning full. He thanked to his people in very kind words. I can't describe in word when the king said that what he has done is the duty. The duty as the one of the Thai people who has to strive for the motherland's development; To bring her to the brighter day. Comparing with his hard works in these 60 years, what he said is very humble. We cannot be what we are in this time being without him.

I, as Thai people who born and live under his generous and peaceful sight, could not explain more how much I love and respect him. It is truely and deeply  in my humble heart, which nothing can take away this royalty. He is our hero who inspire us even in the darkest moment. (like the meaning of his majesty's name which is "The power of the land") The father who shine his kindness to his people all along and always. Also, the King who we love and respect him with the highest regard. I am very pround being Thai.

Good news (with hard work) on meeting day

Today is the first Thursday of the freshman week of Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University - the place I cuttently graduated from.

It's the tradition of my department, Biology, to set this day to be "Wan Wai Khru", Teacher respectation day. All together, both lecturers and students, will show the respectation to our teachers - also the ones who are not in that place.
So, today I woke up early and went to Sarm-Yarn market to order the couple of tiny flower basket. The shopkeeper is a friend of my mom. She made them right away even I told her I'll pick them up in the late afternoon. Before the program was started, I met my friends, seniors, juniors and teachers I really long for. We had brief conversations which most of them were dealing with each others' current works or studies. Followed the program, we prayed for our teachers, had a student-teacher meeting, introduced themselves for the freshman (both under and postgrad), listened to the updated infromation of our department (courseworks, program of studies, rules, researches, grants, etc.) and finally had lunch and karaoke.
In this year, there are many freshman in my dep. It is about 30! and it is required 3 course-advisors to take care of them! I was really glade meeting my newest junior in my series (It's the traditional that the older buddy will take care the younger from generation to generation.) She is really lively. Friends in my generation, which actually the total number is 20, came 11 today. So, it seemed to me like a reunion party.
At first, I quite disappointed cause of the absent of my dear project advisor. All most half of the program passed, he rushed into the room, just came back from some important meeting dealing malaria. So, it was really nice to see him.
Apart from buy us some Thai sweet, he infromed me about a chance for publication my senior project under his supervise. Actually he told me long before, but I didn't think he was this serious; I was told to write ( in Thai or English) the abstract and article in order to publish them in one of thai journal! This is a really kind of him for thinking of me and willing to push me into the real world of scientist.
Hey guys! Don't you believe that I will have a first published article in the national level journal? Oh god, if it possible, it is very awesome!!!

I promise you my dear advisor. I will strive for it as best as I can.

    Coffee time!

    Hi there!

Yesterday I tidied up my room, which has been left in mess for years! I found many interesting leaflets I took from the well know coffee shop. So, this is my today story.

Arabica beans planted in the band between the Topics of Cancer and Capricorn is known as the quality product of many countries. The diversity of regions is strongly effect on the character of coffee which can be divided into 3 main categories.

         1. Mind: Colombia, Latin American, Costa Rica.

         2. Smooth (richer, more flavorful): “Espresso”, Italian, Guatemala, Latin American, Java.

         3. Bold (exotic): Arabian, Kenya, French, Gold coast, Sulawesi, Ethiopia, Sumatra, Italian.

Apart from these, you may have heard about the Decaffeinated which mean without the caffeine.

Like the wine-grapes, the aroma and taste of coffee varies from year to year. So, this is the duty of the manufacturers to control their product’s quality. Coffee experts of some companies test over 100,000 cups a year!! (I wish they can sleep) This process, called "Cupping" is to analyse the quality and select the right protocol to roast it well.

I have been in love with this beverage not just because I have to do a lot of work late at night and wake up very early, but also its taste. Reasonably, the good character comes from the combination of aroma, acidity, body and flavor and also the way to handle it.

    ·        Keeping the freshness: Store it in the dark, airtight container at room temperature.

    ·        Choosing the correct coffeemaker: There are many types suit for different kind of grind.

    ·        The right grind : It depends on time, ranged from 6-15 seconds, and the coffeemaker

    ·        Hit the correct heat: Boiling it makes it bitter. The right temperature is between 92 and 96 degree.

    ·        Don’t reheat: But you can hold its flavor best at 86 degree.

    ·        Classic recipe: 10g of coffee per 180 ml of water.

Cafés which pop up almost every corner usually have their special menus. However, these are the common words that the coffee lovers should know.

    ·        “Espresso” – The common coffee served both hot and iced.

    ·        “Espresso shot” – 30 ml of Espresso.

    ·        “Solo” - One short of Espresso.

    ·        “Doppio”- Two shorts of Espresso.

    ·        “Breve”- The addition of cream instead of milk.

    ·        “Ristretto” – Espresso with the little amount of water. This result in the strong body and exotic caramel taste.

    ·        “Espresso con Panna” – Espresso with wippedcream.

    ·        “Espresso Macchiato” – Macchiato in Italian means “mark”. So this kind of Espresso is served with a mark of foamed milk on top.

    ·        “Caffé Latte” – Espresso with steamed milk plus foamed milk on top.

    ·        “Cappuccino” – This classic cup of the European is similar to Caffé Latte, but less amount of streamed milk. So, the test of Espresso is stronger.

    ·        “Wet Cappuccino” – Plus more steamed milk and decrease foamed milk.

    ·        “Dry Cappuccino” – Cappuccino with very little amount of milk or without it.

    ·         “Caffé Americano” – Adapted from European’s style, Caffé Americano consists of Espresso and hot water.

    ·        “Caffé Mocha” – The combination of Espresso and chocolate syrup with large amount of steamed milk and topped wippedcream, make it becomes one of the most popular.

    ·        “Latte macchiato” – Hot milk with the ¼ inch of foamed milk on its surface and pored with Ristretto Espresso.

Hope you’ll like this story and thanks for your comments.

    Il Divo, the modern opera

    ! Hola! Como esta.

I have excuse for not gone out for my class today. Whatever it is, I don’t want to let the time run away so slowly; it’s usually happen when we are bore or sad. So, I finally found some interesting article to tell you guys.

Commonly, opera is accepted as one of the most beautiful arts that have ever been created by mankind. Even though, unfortunately, few of us have a change to be familiar and get along very well with this kind of music, since its structure is amazingly complex and not really easy to understand. Worst, many of us feel that it’s not the entertaining stuff, instead, the serious one.

                    Now, our story begins…..

Once upon a time, not as long as a time of the fairytales, the American Idol judge, Simon Philip Crowell listened to the rendition “Con Te Partiro” of renowned Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman. This is enough to lead him to the idea to form the multinational quartet opera group with a good appearance (handsome in the Amani’s suits) as well as the voice quality (like “the Three Tenors”). For 2 years, this guy was on the quest and finally in 2003, the world was introduced the alternative style of opera “Il divo”

    Il Divo Play Wembley Arena

Il Divo, “the divine male performer” in Italian, includes (from left to right) Switzerland- native, Urs Buhler; Sabastien Izanbard, the French; the Spaniard, Carlos Marin and the American, David Miller. As their first start, the album “Il divo” was record in Sweden 2004 and gained the popularity among the British by topped all-time-favourite Robbie Williams in UK chart. (RW said “Oi, you’re the bastards that knocked me off” during Bridget Jones : The Edge of Reason gala premiere). It clamed the first position in 13 countries and also ranked in top 5 in 25 countries worldwide. “Ancora”, the second, was record in both Sweden and London under the association of wonderful guitarist Per Magnusson and David Kreuger, and well-known producer Steve Mac. No doubt, it hit the number 1 in the chart of UK, Australia and USA only in the first week.

You guys! If you want to try opera, I suggest you this group. Their operas are friendly and in the same time you can improve your English Spanish Italian French and Latin. Ha Ha!. And in the next few days they will perform “Time of our lives” in the opening ceremony of 2006 FIFA World Cup.

For some of you that have already become their supporters (like me), I think you might love the album of Josh Groban ( “you raise me up” the music video you see in my blog), Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Patrizio Buanne, and also Keedie.

Well, hope opera will be one of your favourite. Bye

    Il Divo Performs At Bloomingdale's

Ps. Il Divo will have a concert at Edinburgh castle in Edunburgh, Scotland in July, shortly after my graduated ceremony day. Wish me to fly there to meet my idol.

    Competition or Commercial?

I didn't go out for work to day. However, I'll go to the photo shop near my place in a few minute. So, before that, I would like to post this topic before I'll forget ; what a short term memory I have!

Yesterday, the most (I should said that) popular American's reality show of Fox channel called American Idol got their winner, Taylor Hicks. The 29 year-old-Southern (Alabama) native was expected by the audiences just under 43 million!(33% of the total of americans who watch TV on that day!) at the moment he became the 5th idol of this show, won over beautiful-21-year-old-Los Angeles girl, Katharine Mcphee.

Image: Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee, Ryan Seacrest

The runner-up, Katherine(middle), and the winner, Taylor Hicks(right) at the moment the host, Ryan (left) , annouced the 5th American Idol.

I'm a Taylor's supportor all along this season. What I like in him is his personality. He always be just himself and seems to me, a good entertainer. But, if I'm the boss of the record company, I don't think that I will choose this guy. Instread, I love to pick Mcphee as a new singer in my company. Why? Because she is beautiful, young, and has an angelic voice. Don't you think that these abilities are necessary for the successful singer? like Kelly Clarkson, their senior. To be more specific, even the americans have their decision like Simon Crowell, the foreseeing judge, there is something more than just Americans' favourable that make this grey-hair guy claimed the champagien position. In my view, commercial. As far as I know, there are many casinoes provide you a chance to bet on "who is going to win the American Idol". And it seems that the paid for Taylor (if he win) is higher than the girl. As you can imagine, who bet on the guy must vote for him.

This situation is similar to the reality show in Thailand. When the popular singer was voted out by some reason, the show brought him back and said "We want to surprise the audiences and want to give him one more chance" Oh! right, actually it can be said that "give the chance fot the company who gain money from tons of SMS, please! "

Well, I don't want to blame anyone since the commercial is the important factor to be concerned in order to produce the show. But sometimes, if they paid the attention mainly only on the amount of their profit and make the audiences feel like they are very stupid person who can be fool easily. This will lead to the ending chapter of the reality show era.

    Happy Tommy Yippyyyyyyy!!!!!

Tennis game become my favourite sport show for 2-3 years since my countryman, Mr.Paradorn Srichaphan, was interested by the international tennis fans. Date back about 6 years, when I was a primary school kid, I enjoyed playing it every Saturday. (By the way, if you know me, I'm not the one who do a lot of sport) Even I do not play tennis for a long time, it seem that my skill is still remain and I can adapt it quite well when I play squash.

Ok! Focus on the point I want to say......

     ! Felicidedas  Tommy Robredo !

Si si si, He has won 6-1, 6-3, 6-3, over Stepanek at Hamburg, German, just a minute ago. I watched it live on cable TV, which normally do not provide me his mach as many as I want. His performance, to me, was perfect today, so, he suit for the champaignship. This time, it must mean a lot to him because it is his first Masters Series trophy. I really glad to see his success as he is my favourite player.

    Robredo reigns in Hamburg

Tommy Robredo Garces was born in Barcelona, Spain 1982. He started playing tennis at age of 5 and finally won junior championship in this own country. In 2004, Tommy as a member of "the gang" celebrated the Devis cup winner position after conqured American in the final . (What I like most for that year's Devis cup is his match with Rafael Nadal against Frenches.) I truly became "Robredo's supporter" when I watched his match against Marat Safin last year; That long match drived Safin crazy enough to destroy hisown racquet and also----his chair! Finally he won over seeded Safin.

Tennis Masters Series Hamburg 2006 Day 7

Like other Spanish players, Tommy has a good "running and slide - footwork skill" on clay cord and also the hand grip style, efficient for making the amazing top-spin ball. Apart from that, I think his forehand is very good (he don't have to open the his arm much and this sets the high speed to the ball.) It make the speeded ball fly to the accurate target. Moreover, I love the amazing slice-net-ball as well as target-locked lop ones. (Well, I wish sometime he will do the great inside-out forehand like Carlos Moya)

Previously, he reached the world No.10 position and now his rank is 7! I wish he will do a good job at  Roland Garros.

    Best wish to you, Tommy

    Bridge for wildlife!?

It seems to me that there are many topics I want to post in the blog during this time. Is it the result of my wondering mind, for which too much free time is provided? Anyway, before I put the pie of other idea in my blog, I would like to tell all you guys about the news in my hometown, Thailand.

If you still remember, I once mension about the Kho Yai, the biggest Thailand's national park. Now, there are several roads cutted cross trough this forest and the government want to enlarged it to  meet the increasing need of the transport connection.
Concerining with the wildlife protection (or with another propose, I can't say) the official agree was occured yesterday (18 May 2006) between the Highways Dep. and The national park. They proposed the construction plan of the "Animal-Bridge", an evelated crossing, over the highways. It will link together 2 Thai's national park, Kho Yai and Tap Larn in order to save the innocent life such as tigers, which often killed by car crash.

Lovely! Now you guys have some backgroud knowledge to discuss with me.

From my ecology class, instructor told me about the efficient designs of conservation area. One of these suggest us to consider on "corridor" and "steping stone"; In the term of theory, it makes possible for the creatures to roam from one side to another. This mean, for them, a wider niche.
Firstly, I agreed with it right away. But my teacher said "It's not that easy" Why?
Usually animals use the same ways in one period of time to go to the specific places, or for the specific reasons. To give some example, I'm not sure that we have a trustworthly evidence about the specific time of the animals' migration between these 2 sites; or the number of animal, kind of them, specific locations and so on. It's not too unrealistic to say that scientists are challenged by this obstacle, since our knowledge dealing with wildlife conservation is still thounsands of mile from "Zeta". I don't mean that we have to know every step of them to make a perfect bridge project. However, many researches have to be done in order to support the design; location, number, size, material, etc, before the scientists and those officers make a dicision wisely.

In my humble view, I hope the government will do a lot of "homework" before launching the sutiable project that benefit both us and our friends at Kho Yai and Tap Larn. No doubt, it cannot be anyothers except the scientists whom are goning to be challenged. Good luck for them!

    Keep busy

Hey guys!! I'm not busy, but actually too free!!

I got the IELTS test at The British Counsil- siam square and had an interview for scholarship (King Anada Mahidol's),which is the one I've told you. Now, I'm still waiting for the result of the scholarship (To be honest, it is my dream, my desire, my wish. But like anyother competition, I have to provide a space for the disappointment.) By the way, the IELTS score is coming and the result is really satisfied : I got band 6.5 !  Don't you believe that! That's mean I met the requirement of the university of Edinburgh. Now, I'm waiting for the unconditional offer letter from the school.

But as you can imagin, I feel too free. According to this, I set this plan to keep myself busy.
    • Applied for the Preparation for Oversea Study-English class : I'm loving it.
    • Try to speak to others, Watch TV and use English as much as I can : update my blog, for example.

Those for improve my English, which I have to use it while I study oversea. Other things I do at this time are:

    • Trainee at Bangkok International Prepschool : It's my teacher's school. She's very generous and not mind if I want to help her at this school. I work at the front desk. Mostly, answer the telephone, but through this, I can practice my speaking skill (English). So, I'll tell you guys more about this story sometimes.
    • Self-study Spanish learner : I want to learn it as my 3rd language. But now Spanish have to become my 4th language instead after I learnt Latin with Mr.Brian. I found some interesting website, which provied me an online lessons. Si! Si! free of charge!! In addition, listen to the il divo song is helpful. (They are my idol-ha ha)
    • Exercise!!!! : No doubt, sitting around, rolling from the left to the right as well as have a time for sinesta make me fatter than before. Now, I try to set my working out program to lost weight and keep fit.
    • Be a good scientist : Keep up date about the current drug discoveries, improved innovations, development of science and changing of the research interest (especially in my field of interest) is the improtant character of sucessful science, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to do this. Well, I should try during this time.
    • Refresh the memory : Some lessons require to be read and understand before go to the Msc classes. I have a short term memory. Some are new for me, but most of them were tough when I was a Bsc. student. May be it's a good time to pull them back from the darkest part of my memory.

Sound pack!! isn't it? Don't worry, I not forget to set the time for relax. I have a lot time to take a nap.

    Bye guys! See you soon.

    Go! Go! my sport heroes

May be because I'm a girl. I don't watch many sports.
During this time, I don't know whether "crazy for the Spanish" or watching TV too much is the reasonable reason, but I'm really happy because of these Spaninards :

    1. Tommy Robredo. He won Nadal. He reached the world number 10 tennis rank. I hope I'll see him play with the other top seed guys at the final tournament @ Shanghai. Vamos Tommy!!!!

    2. Fernando Alonso. This truely new wave of the F1 grabbed both public interest and campaign stand from Schumy (Micheal Schumacher) last year. Let's find out what he is going to surprise us this year. Come on guy! hit the record!

    The blessing

Today, I would like to introduce you one of the current gospel singer I knew, Steven Curtis Chapman, whose song-"The Blessing"-is really touch me.

Chapman and his wife made their first trip to Southeast Asia several years ago and very impressed with the people their met. As a consequence, the Chapmans adopted chinese daughters. After that, he wrote this song to give a priceless gift of blessing to other people as a return to place and also the people who had given much to them.

I'm not the one who usually listen to the gospel or religious song. But, for this one, let it be the exception.

To Whom I really miss; all my relatives, teachers, and friends. God bless you all and take care.

    Let's not say another word
We don't need to question why
let's us pass through this moment

We don't need to wave goodbye
This is not the final song
    Eventhough in our sadness
    Tears may fall*

*Take my smile, hold it in your heart forever
And I will be with you wherever you may go**/***

**How much pain must we teste
How much sorrow must we know
Will we only learn in losing
How to cherish what we hold

But our love is like the wind
We can't hold it in ours hands
In the light of the new day we will understand, So*

May the sun always shine upon your face
And until journy brings us back together
May God hold you in the centre of his hand+

What I gonna do to make "THEM" love me?

Hey! here I come. This is about 1 o'clock in the afternoon and I'm still waiting for the class (English - prepearing for oversea study) at 2. So, I play the internet for killing my time. Actually, I just want to make myself clam down from the current interview, King Ananda Mahidol's scholarship.

This morning my friends and I went to Chulalongkorn U. for the very important interview, King Ananda Mahidol's scholarship. It's quite different from anyother scholarship, or to say in brief, very unique, because there's only the interview, no paper exam! Every year the only one 1st-honner science student candidate, who have different major background : Chemistry, Biology, Physic, etc, will be selected by the examinars by this method and finally he or she will recieve a very very great oportunity to meet our beloved King Rama IX, who established this grant in the memorial of his brother, King Rama VIII.

Firstly, for me it like a dream come true, just be a candidate. Today I expected to tell them as much as I can, but it seem that many time the examinars disscussed to each other instread of asking me. I knew that they had to do quite a hard work to find the suitable one. And as you can guess, I'm always nervous when I have an interview. According to this fact, I forgot some very interesting point to tell them. However, I did expressed one "big" thing that I really intended to, the fact that I really want, and expected as a long term dream, to be a researcher.

What I didn't have the opportunity to tell them was the project I plan in my head. I know that it sound like a crazy dream, but who know, one day it might become reality and bring about the benefit to all mankind, more than anyother discoveries we have ever known. Moreover, I had no time to tell them more about very specific field I interested in and my academic heroes.
Oh! one more thing, I forgot to tell them about this blog........sob. I think that it can be some kind of evidence for how often I use English in my everyday life.
Anyway, I've tried my best and hopefully, they're gonna love my personallity and idea.
Please pick me, the examinars, I really mean that I want to be a researcher.

No matter what the result is, this is what I want to say to my beloved king, the greatest of the greatest king on earth.
     Long Live The King

    Diet!!!!!

Rolling arond all day may become my Top Hit-activity in this summer. So,now I try to keep myself busy by finding something to do.
I planed to go to lab to clear up my samples in fridge at first, but it seem that the rain is possible to pour down at any time. Because of this, I changed my plan to play an internet and finally find some interesting stuff to tell you.

In the international level, I think, the dietary trend is more and more popular. Not only among the people who have to concern strictly about their healty, like the olds, the patients, or the athletes, but also, actually the big group of teenagers.

Some might say something like "Don't you think it's a good sign that people nowaday pay attention more on their health? They want to become strong and healthy. So from now on, we don't have to see doctor as often as we've used to be." I'm quite glad that people focus more on the healthy life style. In Thailand, green tea drink become more famous than soft-drink, the rapid growth of sport clubs and exercise centres in town, and the pop-up of the dietary recipes, are some of the evidences of the change in the life-style trend.

But! Hold on a sec! brother. I'm the one who want to reduce my weight (which increases because of "my top-hit activity" I've mensioned) but in my opinion, I'm not totally agree with the low carb program.
The low carb diets or low carbohydrate diets are both the dietary healthy program and loss weight program. The main concept is to reduce the amount of starch and sugar in the meals which leads to decrease the insulin level in blood. So what's then? Well, if you have no insulin in blood, there's no sugar intake in cell, and then you won't become fat. In these programs, usually, replace Carbs with protein (meat) and fat. And for the Carbs menu, they suggest you to eat vegetables more than fruits, and fruits more than starch (like grain)
Hmm....sound interesting. But do you know what?! There's still the dark side.
    • Too low Carb intake could leads to the metabolic state called ketosis, which may cause headaches, tiredness, nausea, dehydration, dizziness, and an unusual sweet-smelling breath odor.
    • The lowered intake of dietary fiber can result in constipation (Remember vegetables and fruits are high-fibre source)
    • Replacement of calories from carbohydrates with meat may result in high consumption of saturated fat and cholesterol (Oh O!), which many authorities believe will increase the risk of heart disease.
    • It has been hypothesised that the kidneys can become overworked and that a related change in blood acidity can lead to bone loss, but trials testing the hypothesis have found no evidence of kidney damage or loss of bone.

    (From Wikipedia)

From my "Cellular physiology class" the lecturer said

    • It's not the way that directly reduces fat in your body. Because the first source of energy used in metabolism is "Carbohydrate", the slimmer shape is the result of the glycogen (the starch in your muscle) loss, not the fat. (But it maybe possible to kick the fat out by this way if you use this program for a longer time)----According to this, exercise is more direct way to kill of the fat.
    • It's a fact that our fussy brain use ONLY sugar as a source of energy (Damn!). Moreover, if we don't feed it just a minute, it begin to rebel.(dizzy and faint) Deal to this, totally restrict Carbs from your meal is not a very good idea.
I hope this topic is sutable for you who care of your health. If it's too hard to read for you guys how don't familar with science articles, please comment me.
OK, I ate 4 pieces of biscuits and soy milk as my breakfast, which contain quite a lot of Carb. And now I feel hungry, so I'm gonna try to find some salad for my lunch Ha Ha. See Ya

    Kingdom of Heaven

    Hello
There's not many story I have to tell you during this time. I'm waiting for my IELTS result and the interview day of King Ananthamahidol's scholarship. Better than "toss to the left and right and then ", So, I persuaded my mom to watch the long-ago-bought DVD with me, Kingdom of Heaven.

Well, for who haven't seen this one yet (don't think that you're the "out-of-date guy", I'm your friend) the story is about the Crusades of the 12th century. For me, it become my favourite one. The scene is mighty and the story flows smoothy. Even it might be a little bit hard to understand for someone (again, like me) who don't keen at history.

What I want to tell you is apart from Olando Bloom (The lord of the ring's Lagolas) and Liam Neeson (Star wars' Qui-Gon Jinn), my favourite actors, I impressed Jeremy Irons also.

Hmm....Still cannot figure out how he look like?

    'Jeremy Irons' Jeremy Irons

Aha! and these are some of the movie he played...... (all of the lists are my favourite)

    2005     Casanova

    2004     The Merchant of Venice

    2002     The Time Machine

    2000     Dungeons & Dragons

1998     The Man In The Iron Mask

Wow! I can't wait to see the next one.
